DESIGN BIO

Artistic Roots

Molly had grown up with a creative eye and artistic talents helping create beautiful pieces of art for friends and families.

She applied for the Fine Arts program at Oregon State University in 2011 and wanted to expand her painting skills as well as learn about art history. While her time at OSU she felt like she could apply her talents geared towards helping people some how.

Through research and a few friends she stumbled upon Industrial Design and immediately enrolled into the program at The Art Institute of Portland in 2014. There she expanded her creative skills and learned how to apply them to a functional product with purpose focused on human interaction. Through all the possibilities Industrial Design offered footwear was the most intriguing to her. She was lucky enough in her senior year to land a 6 month product design internship at Danner Boot (LaCrosse Footwear, Inc.) and create 3 products that made it to market.

After graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science and a 3.95 GPA she managed to get a job designing HVAC systems at Nortek Air Solutions. She got a call from a recruiter at Nike to come work in the builder lab and FlyKnit department managing projects and teams on specialized footwear projects for high-end athlete clients. This was a 6 month ETW position and as it was coming to an end an opportunity at Danner came around to be a full time product designer. Luckily she got the job and has been progressing her footwear design skills ever since 2018.

Outside of professional work she still paints and creates hand-made items for friends and families applying what she's learned thus far in her career through form and function.
